Numerical Simulation of Elbow Erosion in Shale Gas Fields under Gas-Solid Two-Phase Flow

Erosion is one of the most common forms material failure and equipment damage in gas transmission pipelines. Shale fields use hydraulic fracturing whereby solid particles are often carried flow, pipeline a high-pressure state, which more likely to cause erosion. The prediction particle erosion regulation gas-solid two-phase flow an effective means ensure safe operation shale fields. In this paper, integrated CFD-DPM model established investigate 90° elbow field under employing realizable k-ε turbulence model, discrete phase rate model. reliability proposed numerical models verified by comparing predicted data with experimental data.
